Niassa Carnivore Project

Wildlife Guardians also provided a grant to the Niassa Carnivore Project, a nonprofit organization working to conserve large carnivore populations in the Niassa National Reserve in northern Mozambique. The Niassa Carnivore Project uses a four pronged approach of targeted pragmatic research and monitoring, community outreach/ education, training of Mozambican conservationists and direct mitigation of threats to achieve its objectives. The grant from Wildlife Guardians is being used to reduce the number of lions killed in illegal bush-meat snares in the reserve.
